Hoffmann postcard R12 of SS-Hauptsturmführer Fritz Klingenberg with original wartime signature.
Ritterkreuz: 14.5.1941 as SS-Hauptsturmführer and commander of the 2./ SS-Kradschützen Bataillon, SS-Division "Das Reich" for the capture of the Yugoslavian capital Belgrade.
On 21 December 1944 Fritz Klingenberg was promoted to SS-Standartenführer and 2 weeks later he was appointed to command the SS-Division Götz von Berlichingen.
Klingenberg was KIA by a tank shell on the 23rd of March 1945 at Herxheim.
The postcard was sent as SS-Feldpost (+ nicely stamped SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz, 27.7.1944) to a HJ-boy named Theo Smets. Some more original wartime signed postcards, which were sent to him, will follow in future updates.
