Militärpass to Musketier Jacob Ringelmann, born on the 6th of September 1896 in Karlstadt.
He started his training with the II. Ers.-Batl. 87 2. Kompagnie and was transferred on the 3rd of December to II./ Infanterie Regiment 88. With Infanterie Regiment Landgraf Friedrich I von Hessen-CasselI Kurhessisches Nr. 81 he saw action in Verdun from 7 till the 13th of April 1916. On the 18th of april 1916 he participated in the battles of the Caillette-Wald where he was wounded by artillery.
After recovery he was most likely transferred to Infanterie Regiment 468 2. Komp. where he saw action in the battles of Champagne, Somme an Flandern , Kämpfe vor der Hunding- und Brunhild-Front and Kämpfe an der Aisne.
On the 1.5.1918 he was awarded the Iron Cross Second Class and the Wound Badge on the 9th of July 1918.
