Soldbuch to Unteroffizier Otto Kohl who was born on the 29th of October 1919 in Reuden,Anhalt.
 
His soldbuch was opened in November 1940 with the 6. Fernsprech-Bau-Ersatz Kompanie der Nachrichten-Ersatz-Abteilung 4. This unit was stationed in Meißen (Wehrkreis IV)
 
After his training  he served in  several Nachrichten Units including the Korps-Nachrichten-Abteilung-44  ( which was later destroyed in January 1943 at Stalingrad), Panzerkops-Nachrichten-Abteilung 455 (part of the 55. Armeekorps) in which he served at the Eastern Front (eg. Kiev, Charkov,..) and the Gebirgskorps-Nachrichten-Abteilung 421.
 
He was awarded the Iron Cross 2. Class on the 11th of November 1941 and the Eastern Front Medal on the 27th of August 1942.
