Wehrpass to Schütze Otto Schulmann. He was born on the 2nd of October 1912 in Schöppenstedt, Braunschweig.

 

Otto Schulmann  started his active military career in February 1940 with the 2. Komp. Infanterie-Ersatz-Batl. 17 stationed at Braunschweig

 

He was trained with the K98 and S.M.G. 08
 

After his training he served with the 8. (MG) Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 398. His battle calendar shows action in Belgium (Antwerpen, Dentergem, Tielt, Diksmuiden, Veurne (Furnes)) and France ( Dünkirchen). After the invasion of France he was part of the occupation forces. From 2.7.1940 coastal defense Atlantic Coast. On the 19th of February 1941 he drowned in the harbour of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue,Normandie.

 

He was buried at the cemetary of Lunéville, afterwards reburied  in Cherbourg and finally in Marigny.
