PK-Aufnahme of Knight's Cross Holder Hauptmann Friedrich-Wilhelm Strakeljahn
In february 1943 he became the first Staffelkapitän of the 14. Jabo/J.G.5 Strakeljahn received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on the 19th of August 1943.
He was KIA on the 6th of July 1944 by a direct hit of anti-aircraft fire west of Macuty, near Dünaburg.
