Soldbuch to Obergefreiter Erwin Kaiser , born on the first of January 1906 in Berlin. The soldbuch is a first issue and was opened in February 1943 in Frankfurt (Oder) with the Stammbatterie L. Art.Ers. Abt. 257
 
He  started his career as Kanonier. On the first of August 1944 he was promoted to Gefreiter and finally to Obergrefreiter on the first of April 1945 while serving with the 1. Batt.  I (mot.)/ Artillerie Regiment 1458.
 
This regiment was part of the 158. Feldausbildungs-Division. As part of Heeresgruppe Mitte it saw for example action in Troppau, Sudetenland. The division (renamed 158. Infanterie Division in  April 1945) finally surrendered to Russian Troops May 1945 in the Czech Republic.
