Wehrpass to Gefreiter Heinz Meissner, born on the 21st of June 1926 in Kleinjena
Heinz Meissner started his active military career in March 1944 with the Stamm.-Kp. Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 53 stationed at Naumburg/Saale with the age of 17!
He was trained with the K98, Handgranate 24, Pistole 38 , Torn Funkgerät D2, and Feldfunksprecher 4. He followed an additional training as Funker.
He was promoted to Obergrenadier on the first of April 1945 and to Gefreiter on the first of May 1945.
After training with the Stamm.-Kp. Grenadier-Ersatz-Bataillon 53 (27.3.1944-25.4.1944) he served in the Res.-Inf.-Nachrichten Kompanie 223 (26.4.1944-1.6.1944). On the 2nd of June 1944 he was transferred to the 2./Feld.Ers.Btl. LXX where he stayed till 4.10.1944. The LXX Armeekorps was deployed in Norway since the 25th of January 1943 as occupation force and as coastal protection unit in the southern part of Norway.
From 5.10.1944 till 8.5.1945 he served in the Stabskompanie of Grenadier Regiment 865, part of the 274. Infanterie-Division. The division was part of the 20. Gebirgsarmee(since1.1.1945) and was deployed in Stavanger. The division went into English captivity when the war ended.
