Wehrpass to Obergefreiter Heinz Otto. He was born on the 15th of August 1918 in Elbing.
Heinz Otto started his active military career in February 1938 as volunteer with the 3.Kompanie of Pionier-Bataillon 21 stationed at Elbing.
He was trained with the K98 and followed an additional training as Pionierwasservermessung, Schreiber and Melder
He was promoted to Gefreiter on the first of October 1939 and saw his last promotion to Obergefreiter on the first of December 1940.
After his training he was action with the 3./Pionier Bataillon 21, part of the 21. Infanterie-Division, in Poland: Graudenz, Nowogrod, Zambrow and Bialystok followed by the campaign in Luxemburg, Belgium and France (Rethel, Aisne, Champagne and Isère and occupation of Valence-Grenoble)
With the start of Operation Barbarossa his unit moved to the Eastern Front. Heinz Otto was KIA on the 25th of July 1941 in Nowosselje, nowadays Pokrowskoje (Gussew, Kaliningrad)
He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class.
