Wehrpass to Unteroffizier d. Reserve Rudolf Gerike. He was born on the 2nd of December 1909 in Salzwedel.

 

Meier started his active military career in May 1929 with the  R. Rgt. 14 till April 1931.(Wehrpflicht)

 

He was called up again with the outbreak of the Second World War and was active from 28.8.19399 till 3.3.1940 in Nachschub Kolonne Abt. 5/627, Wehrkreis XI. This unit was disbanded in February 1940.

 

He served with the Divisions-Nachschubführer 3 Kolonne 6 during the invasion of France through the Ardennes with battles in Sedan, Charleville, Guignicourt, Champagne, Saint-Dizier, Côte d'Or,..

 

From 8.12.1940 till 6.11.1943 he served with the Infanterie- Divisions-Nachschubführer 102 during the invasion of Russia.  On the 15th of October 1942 this unit was renamed in Kommandeur der Infanterie-Divisions-Nachschubtruppen 102. The very detailed battle calendar (typical for the 102. Infanterie-Division) shows action in Augustowo, Welikije Luki, Düna in the Rshew area.

 

7.11.1943 till 30.3.1944: Fahrradschwadron 102 (102. Infanterie Division)

 

Rudolf Gericke was KIA on the 20th of August 1944 serving in the 3./Rgt. Gruppe 396, part of the Divisionsgruppe 216(102. Infanterie Division), in the middle part of the Eastern Front near Narew.

 

He followed additional training as Gruppenführer and Stellver. Zugführer

 

Gerike was promoted  to Gefreiter der Reserve (serving with Nachschub Kolonne Abt. 5/627),  on the first of October 1939 and to Unteroffizier der Reserve( serving with the Divisions-Nachschubführer 3 Kolonne 6)  on the first of November 1940.

 

He was awarded  the War Merit Cross Second Class with Swords on the 20th of April 1942 and the Eastern Front Medal  on the 9th of August 1942.
